Old Paludians Association Annual Reunion: Saturday 21st March 2020
You are cordially invited to the 2020 Annual Reunion to be held on Saturday 21 March 2020 at Upton Court Grammar School, Lascelles Road, Slough SL3 7PR from 12pm to 5pm. We hope you will be available on that date and that you will make a note in your diary to attend and that you will invite as many of your friends as possible. Last year’s event was very well attended and enjoyed. A report may be found on the website at https://oldpaludians.org/old-paludians-annual-reunion-2019/
The programme for the day will be:
- 12:00 Registration opens. Coffee and tea available all day
- 12:30 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
- 13:30 Full Traditional Afternoon Cream Tea served in the restaurant
- 14:15 School Tours
- 15:00 Raffle Draw
- Depart at your leisure (doors close at 17.00)
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet friends and recount shared stories. The school has undergone a complete transformation in the last few years and this will be a great chance to see the improvements as well as old haunts – guided tours will be available. There will be an extensive display of items from the archive, and in the computer room, members will be able to view the on-line archive, with assistance to help you find yourself in a long school photograph and to add names where appropriate. There will also be the formal AGM where you will hear about the ongoing work of the Old Paludians Association.
Join the Committee
The Committee would welcome new members, particularly from Slough High School. If you are interested in joining, please contact me, the Chairman, Ron Fidler (e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org), or make yourself known at the Reunion.
Please Share This Invitation
To encourage maximum attendance, we would appreciate it if you could share this invitation with any friends, peers, and teachers with whom you are still in touch. Those that are not yet members of the Old Paludians Association are also welcome to join us by following the link at https://oldpaludians.org/membership/ In a change from previous years and in order to make the event even more sociable, instead of lunch, a full traditional afternoon cream tea (at £12.50) will be served earlier over a longer period. You may opt to have only tea/coffee and biscuits for £3.00, if you so wish.
There will be a raffle with the draw to take place later in the afternoon. Donations of raffle prizes would be especially welcome.
This is a very important AGM for the Old Paludians Association as we have many important matters to consider to ensure the longevity and future of the Association. We urge you attend if you possibly can and to encourage maximum attendance, we would appreciate it if you could share this invitation with any friends, peers, and teachers with whom you are still in touch.

The Committee would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of the following:
The Annual Newsletter is published shortly before the Reunion. Members are invited to provide contributions in the form of stories or updates. Please e‑mail your news items and interesting stories for the 2020 edition to reach Glenys Laws, the editor, at email@example.com not later than 1st March 2020 (or post: Old Paludians Association, c/o Upton Court Grammar School, Lascelles Road, Slough. SL3 7PR). We regret that items received after that date cannot be included.
Payments for the annual Reunion largely cover the cost of catering at the event. The Old Paludians Association is only able to keep going thanks to the generous support of our members. As always, we would be grateful to receive any contributions to help us maintain our community and continue to support the school. If you would like to donate, please use the reply form to do so. Your generous donations last year enabled us to make donations to the school. Details of how 2019 donations were used will be provided in the Newsletter and on the website.
It’s essential for us to ensure that our contact list remains up-to-date so that we can continue to contact you. We would appreciate it if you could complete the reply form here or online at https://oldpaludians.org/old-paludians-association-reunion-2020/and return it to us regardless of whether or not you intend to come to the Reunion. Please endeavour to email us if at all possible so that we can minimise use of paper and postage.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the Reunion.
